Mike Cox Attacks Workers

Michigan Republicans continued their attack on unions by having their lapdog Attorney General Mike Cox issue a lawsuit to block payroll deductions for state employees. The Michigan Civil Service Commission decided last month that state workers should be able to raise money for union-backed candidates and issues through payroll deductions. I must remind you that these deductions are able to be used for candidates from any party and non-partisan elections and issues as well.

Mike Cox has a long history of being a right wing hack:

In 2005 he pushed for legislation that damaged right to fair trial.

Later that year it was discovered that Cox was doing his best Bush impersonation by hiring the wives of two Michigan supreme court justices.

You may also recall that while crowing that he stood for the sanctity of marriage he then revealed that he had an extramarital affair.

All of this typically hypocritical Republican behavior from Cox is the reason it doesn’t surprise me one bit that he is trying to take a swing at unions.

Id like to thank anonymous for reminds us on the left, who rediculously spintered the GOP has become in this primary season. And for setting the scene for how rediculously disengenuine you'll all look this fall when you're trying to convice folks to vote for McCain.

On to Mike Cox. The Michigan GOP spent 12 yrs in the governors mansion and did nothing but try to defeat the MEA. It doesn shock me that todays Michigan GOP is so blatantly anti worker (case in point Mike Cox). Thats basically all that the MI GOP knows how to do. The obviously have little idea of how to 1) manage economic development or 2) handle state infrastructure

Thanks to Engler and his offspring like Cox, Michigan is a decade behind in economic diversification.
